People vote via a variety of ways, but they just don't show the points at the end to keep the results from the semis from influencing the voting behaviours in the final
To avoid the "this country got a fuckton of votes in the semis so imma vote for something else now because this country is gonna end up high anyway" thing

They save the whole "douze points" thang for the final
